Sun damage
What is it?
You can evaluate the effects of UV exposure on your skin by comparing the inside of your arm (where sun exposure is lower) with an area commonly exposed to the sun such as your forearms, neck or chest. Apart from a sunburn, you may notice freckles, sunspots, moles, and uneven skin tone.
Origins & main causes
In short, exposure to UV radiation messes with your skin DNA, causing hyperpigmentation and damaging your skin barrier and collagen.
What to do
There is no secret, the key to preventing sun damage is protection. Remember to wear your SPF! After a high exposure, aloe vera, antioxydants and zinc are amongst the most popular ingredients to help recover.
