Wrinkles & fine lines

What is it?

Wrinkles are a natural consequence of repeated facial expressions over time. When we age, our collagen and elastin levels naturally decrease, and so does our skin’s ability to fully \”bounce back\”. That leads to fine lines, most often around the eyes, on your forehead and around your mouth.

Origins & main causes

Even though the emergence of wrinkles is a natural and unavoidable process, there are factors that accelerate it by damaging your skin and our collagen much sooner than needed. Some of these well known factors are smoking, eating excess sugar and sun exposure.

What to do

The key to preventing wrinkles is sun protection and hydration. Apart from SPF, you can use ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides or antioxydants. Retinoids can also reduce fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating your production of collagen. However, make sure NOT to layer them with vitamin C or AHA/BHA, and always be careful with retinoids and monitor your skin’s reaction when you begin your treatment.
